Hurricane Sandy Update: Wednesday, October 31, 2012, 9:45 a.m. EST
The Warehouse is OPEN and fully operational. Power has been restored to our warehouse and we are operating normally. As usual, all orders placed by 5:00 p.m. EST today will ship today, and all carriers are operating normally in our area.
Thank you for your patience as we were closed on Monday due to the Hurricane. The safety of our staff is our top priority and we were unable to safely operate on Monday. On Tuesday, we had no power in our warehouse, but were able to pack orders from the weekend and Monday on backup power. Even so, packages shipped on Tuesday via UPS most likely will be delayed by one day by UPS, as UPS was not operating normally yesterday. We believe most US Postal shipments were moving normally on Tuesday. Orders placed on Tuesday during the day will ship today (Wednesday).
Special thanks go to Matt E., our Operations Director. Matt agreed to allow Howard County Maryland's Swift Water Rescue to drive Matt's home on Monday during the middle of the storm, transport him to the warehouse in an emergency vehicle so Matt could resupply them with glowsticks for their ongoing rescue operations and be driven home.
Sales & Customer Support is Open
Our main office is OPEN. Customer service and telephone functions are operating normally. Therefore, we are able to take your phone calls, answer questions and respond to live chats. We will be available from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. EST.
We're pleased to let you know that our website experienced zero down-time due to the hurricane, as our data center for internet operations was unaffected by the storm. We also had zero down-time for our 800 number, email and live chat support. Our customer service staff was able to work remotely from home, and all of our telephone, email and live-chat systems are "in the cloud" and remained 100% operational. Thanks for your patience and support.
