Party Ideas
Glowsticks can be the life of the party! Check out our ideas for making your next party glow!
Glowsticks Party
Let glowsticks be your party theme! Our glowsticks come in tubes of 100, so you can easily add them to all the surfaces at your party. Entwine twister neclaces in the chandelier, wrap glow bracelets around chairs, hang Glow Balls from the ceiling, and be sure to pass out plenty of glow sticks and give each guest a glow lei.
Glowsticks are nontoxic, so you can use them to decorate the buffet table or wrap them around bottles. Use twister bracelets around the stems of cocktail glasses. Echo the bright colors in your refreshments with tropical fruits and brightly-frosted cupcakes.
Turn down the lights, clear a space for safe dancing, and your party is ready to go!
Black and White and Bright All Over
Decorate for your party with black and white. Check the wedding, Over the Hill birthday party, or Halloween sections of your local party store for decorations, and keep the party area strictly black and white. Add a black light if you like. Ask your guests to wear black and white.
Then add glowsticks for a pop of color. A big bouquet of glowsticks in a brandy snifter makes a wonderful centerpiece. Flashing LED barware and bright cocktails will stand out in fun contrast to the severity of your black and white look. Greet guests with a glow necklace or lei.
Glowsticks for Kids
Decorate with glow balls and draped chains made of glow bracelets. Fill big bowls with unactivated glow sticks of different kinds. Use them to play glow products games:
- Make hats from twister necklaces and bracelets. Once all the guests have created their hats, hold a hat parade and distribute prizes for the most creative, funniest, most impressive feat of engineering, etc. For young guests, have a prize for each hat -- it just takes a little creativity to come up with a category for each!
- Play glowstick tag outside as it begins to get dark.
- Play Frisbee, Ultimate, volleyball, and other favorite outdoor games in the dark by securely taping a glow stick or two to the ball and outfitting the players in glow necklaces.
- Play Hot Potato in the usual way, but add to the excitement by using a glow ball.
- Hide mini glowsticks in surprising places and send the kids out to find them all.
Luminous Luau
Use bundles of red and orange glowsticks to suggest tiki torches and a firepit, drape each guest with a glow lei, and serve bright colored tropical drinks.Play Hawaiian and Polynesian music, and twist twister necklaces into simple flower shapes for decorations.
Play limbo with a broomstick wrapped in twister necklaces. Glow bracelets worn as ankle bracelets will set the mood, and make a dramatic effect for outdoor dancing. Glowstringing and poi with glowsticks can be super impressive -- ask around to see if you can find someone with the skills. If not, let YouTube inspire you to create your own version!
