How should glowsticks be disposed of?
Like most plastics, glowsticks can't be recycled. They can be disposed of just as you would a plastic container for cosmetics or household products.
Since glowsticks are bright and appealing, though, we recommend that you dispose of them in a place where animals and children won't have access to them.
Glowstick throwing
Tossing glowsticks at a concert or dance is part of the fun. Consider activating them first so they're easier to see -- they look cooler when they're thrown, too, if they're lit first. It's in the nature of a glowstick to be an ephemeral pleasure, so there's no need to save them up!
